Brickasso® No. 09
A portrait of memory, stage and gratitude.
The Legend is Brickasso® No. 09, an original one of one sculptural 3D mosaic built from 16,540 original LEGO® elements. Created for the Final of Românii au Talent, the work is centered on Florin Piersic, one of the most recognized cultural figures in Romania.
The portrait is only the first layer. From a distance, the image holds the familiar face of a performer whose voice, presence and stories have crossed generations. Up close, the surface opens into a layered world of miniscenes connected to Florin Piersic's life, Romanian cinema, theatre and memory.
The work also carries Albert's own final moment. Inside the artwork, Albert built a small LEGO® piano live on stage and placed it into the composition as a miniscene. After that, he sat at a real piano and played, turning the presentation into a meeting between portrait, construction, music and performance.
Story
The portrait of a Romanian legend.
The Legend was built around presence. Florin Piersic is not represented only as a face, but as a figure connected to memory, cinema, theatre, storytelling and the emotional history of Romanian audiences.
Albert approached the portrait as a tribute. The image remains direct from a distance, while close viewing reveals the life around the figure: cultural places, personal references and small scenes that turn the portrait into a visual archive.
Hidden Narrative
Florin Piersic and Albert inside the same work.
The miniscenes connect moments from Florin Piersic's public life with the moment Albert lived on the final stage. The Cinema Florin Piersic in Cluj-Napoca appears as a cultural landmark, while a quiet garden scene shows him reading, away from the stage.
Albert's own performance is also preserved inside the artwork. The LEGO® piano built live during the final becomes part of the composition, linking the portrait to the exact night when the work was presented. The piece becomes both a tribute to a legend and a record of Albert's own artistic passage.
