Short Biography

Albert Oprea was born in 2015 and works under the artistic name Brickasso®. Based in Romania, he has developed a distinctive practice in which LEGO® elements become a serious artistic medium. His works are not decorative mosaics. They are one of one sculptural artworks built through planning, sorting, layering and long manual construction.

Brickasso® gained national visibility through Romania's Got Talent 2026, where Albert reached the final and presented large scale artworks that combined visual art, performance, memory and storytelling. The project continues to grow as a documented body of work designed for collectors, exhibitions and international cultural platforms.

Artistic Practice

Brickasso® uses the LEGO® brick as a precise unit of color, shadow and structure. Each element is selected and placed by hand. From a distance, the viewer sees the complete image. Up close, the surface reveals hidden details, micro scenes, changes of relief and the physical trace of time invested in the work.

The practice stands between contemporary art, sculpture, architecture and visual storytelling. The result is a form of art where childhood material becomes permanent object, and where patience becomes visible.

Artist Statement

I build images from thousands of small decisions. Every brick has a position, a color and a purpose. I want people to see the artwork first from far away, then come close and discover the story inside the work. Brickasso® is my way of showing that imagination can become structure, and that a simple brick can carry time, emotion and meaning.

Artistic Recognition

Brickasso® has been presented through television, public exhibitions, press features and cultural events. His works have been associated with important public figures, exhibition contexts and media coverage, creating a documented history around the development of the Brickasso® catalogue.

This public record matters because it places each artwork inside a visible artistic journey. For collectors, institutions and galleries, documentation, recognition and continuity are part of the long term value of an artist's work.

Why Collect Brickasso®

Collectors do not acquire a Brickasso® artwork only because it is made from LEGO® elements. They acquire time, authorship, rarity, documentation and a unique position within a developing artistic catalogue. The value of each work is connected to the artistic process, the scale of execution, the one of one nature of the piece, the hidden narrative and its permanent place in the official BRK Registry.

One of One

Each official work is created as a unique original. The same artwork is not reproduced as an edition.

Manual Construction

Every element is selected and placed by hand. Large works can require hundreds of hours of focused work.

BRK Registry

Each signed work is recorded in the official Brickasso® Registry with a private verification code.

Certificate

Collectors receive a signed Certificate of Authenticity with QR verification.

Limited Production

Monumental works require months of production, which naturally limits annual output.

Long Term Vision

The portfolio is built as a serious body of work, not as a collection of decorative objects.

Historical Position

Each artwork occupies a permanent position within the official Brickasso® catalogue and contributes to the documented evolution of the artist's body of work.

Collectibility

The collectibility of a Brickasso® artwork is influenced by scale, complexity, production time, visual impact, registry position, exhibition history, media visibility and collector demand. Works connected to important public moments or early stages of the Brickasso® catalogue hold additional historical significance.

Works are placed through private collector inquiries, selected commissions and direct acquisition discussions handled through official contact channels.
