Brickasso® Registry: BRK-01

The White Horse | Brickasso® No. 01

The White Horse is the first official work in the Brickasso® Registry and marks the beginning of Albert Oprea's artistic catalogue. Created from 18,322 original LEGO® elements, it established the visual language, sculptural depth and manual building process that continue to define every Brickasso® artwork.

The Story

The White Horse began as a statement of identity. It was the moment when Brickasso® moved from experimentation into an official artistic body of work. The subject carries strength, discipline and quiet presence, but the work is not only about the horse. It is about the first time Albert Oprea signed a creation as part of a long term catalogue.

From a distance, the image reads as a calm figure with controlled force. Up close, the surface becomes a field of decisions. Each LEGO® element contributes to contour, light, rhythm and relief. The work is both image and object.

Historical Position

Every artistic body of work has a beginning. Within the Brickasso® catalogue, The White Horse occupies that position. As BRK-01, it is the reference point from which the artist's visual language, construction techniques and long term vision developed.

Its importance extends beyond dimensions and brick count. The artwork defines the first official chapter of Brickasso®, making it a foundation piece in the history of the practice.

Artistic Significance

The composition is built around balance. The white horse emerges from a textured Novacolor ARCHI+ Big background, framed by a solid structure and shaped through thousands of individual placements. The contrast between material precision and emotional stillness gives the work its presence.

The artwork introduced several elements that later became part of the Brickasso® language: sculptural depth, controlled relief, architectural support, a premium surface, and the principle that a LEGO® artwork can function as a serious contemporary object.
