The White Horse

The first official Brickasso® artwork and the beginning of Albert Oprea's documented artistic practice.

Brickasso® No. 01

The beginning of the Brickasso® language.

The White Horse is the first official Brickasso® artwork and the first chapter in Albert Oprea's artistic practice. Completed in 2025, the work marks the moment when curiosity, patience and thousands of original LEGO® elements became a personal visual language.

Inspired by the symbolism of the white horse, freedom, courage and trust, the work became more than a portrait. For Albert, it represented the confidence to begin creating original artworks under the Brickasso® name.

The image is direct from a distance. Up close, the surface reveals a layered system of sculptural relief, material density and hidden details assembled piece by piece.

Story

Courage and trust.

The White Horse began as a personal challenge. It became the work through which Albert started to understand that patience could become structure and that thousands of individual elements could express one clear idea.

The white horse carries associations of courage, movement and trust. In the context of Brickasso®, those ideas became connected to Albert's own beginning as an artist and to the confidence required to build something that did not yet have a defined path.

Artistic Significance

The first chapter.

The White Horse established several characteristics that continue throughout the Brickasso® practice: sculptural relief, material layering, hidden details, handmade construction and the transformation of a recognizable image into a physical surface.

As BRK-01, the work remains the opening record of the Brickasso® Registry and the foundation from which the later catalogue develops.
